Preparing for the Minimum Wage Changes

  1. Audit Your Current Payroll System: Review your payroll system to identify employees whose wages need adjustment to comply with the new minimum wage laws.
  2. Update Employee Wages: Adjust the wages of affected employees to meet or exceed the new minimum wage requirements.
  3. Communicate Changes: Inform your employees about the upcoming wage increases. Clear communication can help manage expectations and maintain morale.
  4. Review Local Regulations: Ensure that you are compliant with both state and local minimum wage laws, as some municipalities have higher requirements than the state minimum.
  5. Consult with HR Professionals: If you need assistance, consider consulting with HR experts. Guardian HR can help you navigate these changes and ensure compliance.
