Work rules are necessary to ensure that a business operates effectively. It is imperative that employees understand their obligations and responsibilities toward their co-workers and their employer and the consequences for failing to meet those obligations and responsibilities. When work rules are not clear, or are enforced haphazardly, employee morale suffers.

Furthermore, inconsistent enforcement or consequences for similar offenses can lead to discrimination claims. Employers should give thoughtful consideration to the rules that are necessary in their workplaces and construct a set of procedures to enforce those rules fairly. Doing so offers protection against successful employee claims and makes for a more productive working environment.

This week’s HR Form of the Week is a helpful step-by-step guide on how to design a disciplinary procedure that sets your Company up for a successful 2024!

We hope you find this information valuable and that it helps to make your HR experience easier and more efficient.
